Trek day 8 - Phakding to Lukla

October 7th

We trekked back through the "lowlands" (low meaning around 9000 feet) from Phakding back to Lukla.  In Lukla, we had an end of trek party which consisted of tipping the porters and sherpas followed by drinking and dancing.

Now that's trekking in style!

A cool, blue mani stone.

Gourav, Bikas, and myself - posing along the trail.

Me and some terraced hillsides.

Painting a new mani stone.

The Dudh Khosi river.
Mandi, myself, and the Dudh Khosi river valley.

Shaking hands with Rinji after giving him a tip.

One of our porters and the wife of another porter (who was already off on another trek).

A pitcher of chang.  Chang is the local rice beer.  This whole pitcher cost less than a beer!

Funny celebratory cake.

Dancing the night away!
