My roomate, Saora who is from Japan, and I took a trip to Kovallam beach on our day off at the ashram. It was an hour autorickshaw ride from the ashram. It was a bit of an overcast day, but the beach was still gorgeous.

After the Ashram, I went and spent 1 night at Varkala beach, a 2 hour auto rickshaw ride from the ashram. It was a beautiful rocky, shore with a sunny beach.

This was a view from the rooftop restaurant at my hotel, where I looked through the palm trees at the ocean. 
The Kerala beaches are gorgeous! I came back and told Jon that I definitely want to take him there!
